From Umar Dankano, Yola

Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe of Adamawa Southern Senatorial District has facilitated the distribution of 1,100 bags of fertilizer to farmers across nine local government areas in the district. The intervention was carried out in partnership with Alkaf Global Investment Resources Limited and the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).

Speaking during the weekend ceremony in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, Senator Yaroe—represented by Mr. Boniface Katawan, commended BCDA for supporting his constituents. He said the initiative was aimed at boosting agricultural activities and improving food security in Adamawa South.

According to him, his resolve to uplift the living standards of the people remains the driving force of his political representation. He pledged to continue delivering programmes that give his constituents a sense of belonging.

Yaroe further recalled that his collaboration with Alkaf Global Investment Resources Limited has yielded several empowerment programmes in the past, describing the company as a dependable partner in grassroots development.

In their separate remarks, Mr. Stephen Daniel, a representative of BCDA, and Mrs. Bilkisu Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of Alkaf Investment Limited, praised Senator Yaroe’s selfless service. Mrs. Ibrahim disclosed that while each of the eight LGAs received 120 bags of fertilizer, Mayo-Belwa LGA received 140 bags, bringing the total distributed to 1,100.

The duo described Senator Yaroe as one of the most effective lawmakers in the Senate and urged residents of Adamawa South to continue supporting him to sustain the delivery of democracy dividends.

Representatives from the benefiting LGAs, among them Dauda Wilson (Jada), Elishama Thomas (Shelleng), and Abubakar Audu (Toungo), expressed gratitude to Senator Yaroe and his collaborators. They assured both the senator and the federal agency of fairness and transparency in the fertilizer distribution process.

In addition, each of the five first-class chiefs in Adamawa South received a special allocation of 10 bags of fertilizer, in recognition of their role in promoting peace and unity in their domains.

Our correspondent reports that the fertilizers, comprising NPK and Urea, were distributed under the project tagged LoT (B311) BCDA 2025 Capital Project. The intervention is expected to serve as a lifeline for smallholder farmers and enhance the prospects of a bumper harvest across the state.
