Adamawa Senator Sponsors Free Medical Treatment for 1,917 Patients

Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe has sponsored a free medical outreach that provided treatment to 1,917 patients suffering from various illnesses in Borrong and neighboring communities in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The Principal Medical Officer (PMO) of Numan General Hospital, Dr. Rephath Pius, disclosed that the medical team attended to approximately 1,850 outpatients and performed 67 surgeries, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 1,917.
Dr. Pius highlighted the surgical procedures carried out during the outreach, which included 21 herniorrhaphies, 8 appendectomies, 3 cystectomies, and 3 myomectomies, among others. He stressed that all surgeries were conducted successfully.
Speaking during the weekend outreach, the medical team leader, Dr. Jama Medan, emphasized that the initiative was part of Senator Yaroe’s efforts to support his constituents in the Adamawa Southern Senatorial District.
Dr. Medan called for patience and cooperation from the beneficiaries, assuring them that the medical team, which comprised specialists from hospitals across the country and NYSC health workers, was committed to providing quality healthcare services.
He further explained that the free medical outreach was carried out in collaboration with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) and implemented by ALKAF Global Investment Resource Limited on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
According to him, Senator Yaroe’s Mobile Hospital was stationed at the Primary Health Care (PHC) center in Borrong, facilitating medical services, while most of the surgeries were conducted at General Hospital Borrong.
In his address to the residents of Borrong, Senator Yaroe reaffirmed his commitment to improving the well-being of his constituents by providing free healthcare services.
Represented by Katawan Boniface, the senator stated that the health and welfare of his people remain a top priority, adding that he would continue to work towards bringing relief to his constituents.
Several beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Senator Yaroe for the life-saving initiative, especially for those who could not afford medical treatment.
A 32-year-old mother diagnosed with multiple fibroids and a ruptured appendix thanked the senator for sponsoring her surgery, which would have cost her ₦500,000 at a private hospital.
Another beneficiary, identified simply as Danfulani, commended the senator for ensuring that ethnic and religious differences did not influence the medical intervention, appreciating the inclusiveness of the initiative.
