AGILE Organises One day Summit on positive change on Girl Child education

The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment Project AGIlE has organised a one day summit in Gombe one day which was tagged: Gombe Girl Child, a positive difference, challenges, impact, and way forward.
The summit which was initiated by a Youth Corp member serving in the state Mr. Orokpo Ehi Owoichi was part of his Community Development service project for the well-being of Gombe Girl Child.
Speaking during the event, the Gombe State Project Coordinator of AGILE, Dr. Amina Haruna Abdul appreciated the contributions of the youth Corp member in initiating the event which she said will go a long way in addressing issues of Girl child in the state.
Dr, Amina Abdul, assured that AGILE Project will always support and partner with associations and communities towards the smooth implementation of the project in the state.
In his remark, the Gombe State Chairman of Parents Teachers Association, Alhaji Yaya Hammari emphasised that Governments at all levels provide adequate funding for the education sector and the need for attitudinal change, re-orientation of societal and parental values towards education for girls in the communities.
Earlier, the convener of the event, Mr. Orokpo Ehi Owoichi appreciated the Project Coordinator and her team for making the event a success.
He added that, the idea to organise the summit was conceived
during the summit, Symposium, and presentation of public speaking champions where issues ranging from the challenges faced by girls in the pursuit of education, early marriage, unwanted pregnancies, poverty, rape, neglect, ignorance, bearing family burden, lack of parental care, and way forward were presented.
