AKCILS 2014/16 Law Alumni Celebrate Historic Reunion, Cementing Bonds Beyond Academia

Amidst an atmosphere of uncontainable joy and boundless happiness, the 2014/2016 Department of Law Alumni from Aminu Kano College Islamic and Legal Studies (AKCILS) congregated at Ten to Ten Restaurant in Kano to mark a monumental reunion event.
The convener, Mustapha Sa’eed Kano, expressed that this historic reunion aimed to reignite and fortify the enduring bond among the alumni.
Highlighting their diverse professional paths post-graduation; spanning lawyers, police officers, activists, and various professions, Mustapha emphasized how these commitments had kept them apart for almost seven years.
“The alumni now stand united as a Civil Society Group expanding beyond a mere school group which is dedicated to supporting one another, our immediate community, and current students of our beloved institution” disclosed Saeed
Addressing the gathering with a fatherly advice, Barr. MB Shehu, Member House Representative Fagge LGA and a former lecturer at AKCILS, urged the alumni to perceive themselves not merely as former classmates but as colleagues, collaborators, and even competitors in the noble field of law.
He encouraged them to leverage their reunion as a catalyst for collective growth, emphasizing the importance of sharing experiences and strengthening each other.
Expressing his delight at the gathering, Barr. MB Shehu generously donated N250,000 to the Alumni Association, pledging continuous support for their professional development and promising to facilitate opportunities for their advancement.
Offering motherly advice, Deputy Provost of AKCILS, Barr. Dijah Isa, underlined the reunion’s significance beyond celebration. She emphasized the enduring legacy of Aminu Kano, urging the alumni to remember the lessons learned, friendships forged, and the promising future awaiting them.
Barr. Dija inspired them to pursue not just success but significance by championing the causes of justice and advocating for the voiceless.
Speaking to newsmen after the event, Barr. Hussain Ahmad Makari, a lecturer at AKCIL, commended the alumni for their efforts in organizing the event and advised them on sustaining unity through supporting the less privileged among them.
Reflecting on the event, Alumni Jibril Isa Gama, known as AG Redemption Chamber, deemed it a memorable occasion, emphasizing how it provided a rare opportunity for colleagues to reunite. He encouraged other students to follow suit in fostering connections and mutual support.
Echoing this sentiment, Alumni Abubakar Ahmad Nasidi affirmed the unforgettable nature of the gathering, solidifying a bond for continuous connection among them.
