AKTH To Mark World Premature Day Today

The Department of Paediatrics of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital will commemorate World Prematurity Day today (Wednesday) at the Main Conference hall of the hospital.

According to a statement issued by the Head of Department of the Paediatrics and released to newsmen by AKTH’s Deputy Director of Information, Hauwa Muhd Abdullahi, two papers will presented on Respiratory Support and Kangaroo Mother Care.

The theme of this year’s World Prematurity Day is “Small action, Big Impact: Immediate skin-to-skin care for every baby “will start by 8:30 am. in the morning.

The Head of Department, Professor Muhammad Abdulsalam called on the Mothers and the general public to give special/extra care to premature babies in order to protect them from diseases and illness.
