Akwa Ibom CP Holds Maiden Strategic Security Meeting with Officers, Decorates 142 Newly Promoted Senior Officers
The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, held his maiden strategic security meeting with members of the Management Team, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders.
DSP Timfon John, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Police Public Relations Officer disclosed this development in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday
During the meeting, CP Azare emphasized key directives from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, addressing issues such as corruption, extortion, incivility towards the public, and the need for proper supervision of junior officers.
CP Azare assured senior officers of the command that he will operate open-door policies and emplace strategies aimed at reducing crime and curbing unprofessional conduct among officers.
The meeting concluded with directives for all DPOs, Area Commanders, and Tactical Commanders to draft actionable crime-reduction plans tailored to their jurisdictions and ensure strict implementation.
Similarly, in an epoch-making event, the newly promoted Senior Police Officers were decorated with their new ranks by the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, amidst cheers from their families, friends, and professional colleagues.
A total number of one hundred and forty -four Officers were decorated which includes two CSP to ACP, twenty-five SP to CSP, twenty-two DSP to SP and ninety-three ASP to DSP
Some of the Decorated officers include ACP Inyang John Abia, DPO Shelter Afrique, and ACP Ahiwa Ribadu, OC Anti-Cultism, who were formerly CSPs, and were decorated with their new rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police. CSP Felix Ekpoudom, 2IC QIU, CSP Cordiella Nwawe, Provost 26 PMF, Uyo and CSP Ebong Thompson, OC SWAT were decorated with their new rank. SP Edu Edward Lawrence, SOJ and the SP Osamwonyi Omonuwa PA to CP were among the Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) promoted to Superintendents of Police (SP).
In his remarks, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, fsi, congratulated the promoted officers and their families while reiterating that every one of them is an ambassador of the Nigeria Police Force. He charged them to discharge the schedules of their new ranks within the ambit of the law.
The CP expressed his appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, the Police Service Commission, and the Force Management Team for their commitment to the welfare of members of the Force.
