Akwa Ibom CP,Baba Azare,Charges Police Retirees To Be Peaceful,Law Abiding

The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State,Baba Mohammed Azare, has charged police retirees in the state to be bridge builders, peaceful and law-abiding in their respective communities.
CP Azare gave the charge when he received retired Police Officers in the State who paid him a courtesy visit at the police command headquarters, Uyo, on Tuesday.
The charge is contained in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer,DSP Timfon John.
The police commissioner reminded the retirees of their professional code of conduct and stressed that they are still bound by those laws.
The CP also assured them on the issue of Contributory Pension Scheme(CPS), and that the Inspector General of Police(IGP),Kayode Egbetokun, is working tirelessly to ensure that “something meaningful is achieved.”
He urged them to cooperate with the appropriate authorities around them to ensure that crime is reduced and criminals are “expunged from the society.”
While noting the retiree’s demands, CP Azare assured the Association of his support and promised to give them the “needed visibility and publicity.”
