Al-Ma’arif College Potiskum, Matriculates About 297 Students In Yobe

Al-Ma’arif College of Health Sciences and Technology Potiskum of Yobe State matriculated about 297 fresh students for various programmes in different departments of the College for set III 2023 academic year.
Among the courses that the students apply for study are, Community Health Department, Medical Laboratory Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Health Information Management, Dispensing Opticianry and Orthopedic Cast Technology Department respectively.
The Registrar of the College, Usman Alhaji Saleh during the ceremony said the event, which was the combined matriculation ceremony was also the 3rd matriculation of the College that , the ceremony was combined.
In his matriculation speech, the Provost Malam Musa Mamman, who expressed his pleasure to welcome the students to campus, disclosed that the students’ admission process was highly competitive, advising that the Students should concentrate fully on their studies as well as comply with the oath they have taken to obey all the rules and regulations of the College respectively.
Furthermore, the Provost acquainted the matriculating students with the commitment of the management and board of Directors to make the College a more standard class institution with the capacity to raise highly skilled personnel who will make a difference in the society.
He said: “It is with utmost delight that I welcome you today to the College matriculation of our fresh students. This occasion is significant because it is a platform through which qualified students are formally admitted into this institution.
“This is in demonstration of our commitment to provide you with the platform to pursue academic programmes that can position you for relevance in this dynamic century. That is the reason some of you here today have the opportunity to pursue these programmes in unique disciplines in this institution.”
In an orientation sermon by the Founder/Chairman of Al-Ma’arif College, Sheikh (Dr) Ibrahim Abdullahi Sani R/Lemo disclosed that in the institution’s commitment to expand frontiers of knowledge and service to humanity, the College is witnessing transformations geared towards creating a more favorable learning environment.
Warning the students against misconduct, Dr. Lemo charged the matriculating students to be of good conduct, explaining that the institution has “zero tolerance for social vices such as cultism, drug offences, indecent dressing, indiscipline and all forms of ills that are prevalent among youths,” adding: “Any student therefore, caught in the web of any of these vices on campus will be adequately sanctioned and dealt with according to our rules.”
Other speakers at the occasion include Malama Zainab Ja’afar Mahmoud Adam, Secretary of the College Board of Directors, payment indexing by the Bursar and importance of indexing by the Director Academic Planning, Malam Muhammad Aliyu.
A trophy was presented by the Founder/Chairman assisted by the Provost and the Registrar .
