Alleged Adultery: Hisbah Officer Denies Catching Jigawa Commissioner With Housewife

Malam Aliyu Usman,the officer that was said to have arrested the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwalu Sankara, for allegedly having an illicit affair with a housewife, has now denied knowledge of the matter.
Usman, in a popular Freedom Radio,Kano, magazine programme “In Da Ranka,” aired on Wednesday, said he never issued a statement or spoke to the media on the matter.
The Officer,who is in charge of Yankaba area of the Kano State Hisbah Command was earlier reported to have arrested Sankara while having an illicit affair with the woman identified as Tasleem Baba Nabegu.
Usman, however,disclaimed the voice report which was circulated on the social media suggesting that Sankara admitted having illicit affair with the married woman, describing the audio material as “fake.”
He insisted that at no time did he have a conference with Sankara where he admitted the case against him.
He said when a complaint was received from the husband of the woman, he and other officers of the Hisbah Command launched an investigation into the matter, and that upon a visit to the suspect’s house, they found the accused, Tasleem inside her car, while Sankara was walking towards the gate of the house together with the gateman.
Usman explained that as a junior officer of the Command he had no right to talk,reveal or give report to any person with regards to their operations,except with the permission of their Boss, Malam Mujahid, ” so, I wonder where the the audio clip emanated from and how it could be credited to me.”
Meanwhile, the lawyer to Tasleem, Barrister Rabiu Shuaibu Abdullahi, said the case was already before the court in which his client was the second dependent.
Rabiu said that the court had directed the Inspector-General of Police to investigate the matter, and that they are happy with the order.
According to him, the couple at the centre of the matter have been having domestic crisis for years to the extent that the complainant, (Husband) was using gun to terrorize his wife when ever they have disagreement.
“My client has a restaurant at Lamido Crescent, the restaurant is popular, people use to call her to order for food, but because of the family crisis, the husband has been trailing and tracking her movement with tracker for unknown reasons than persecution, ” he said.
The case is presently under investigation at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and Sankara has vowed to pursue the case to its logical conclusion so as to clear his reputation and that of his family.
