The Chairman of the AMG Foundation, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, has hosted a technical session with members of KANET and YOSPIS to strengthen their understanding of the Operational Plan Guide.
The session, held on Saturday, at the AHBN Conference Hall, brought together key stakeholders from both networks for an in-depth engagement on operational planning strategies and implementation frameworks.
Participants were exposed to practical insights on effective planning processes, coordination mechanisms, and best practices aimed at improving organizational performance.
In his remarks, Dr. Magashi welcomed stakeholders, noting that the joint session involving YOSPIS Reference Group and KANET leadership was designed to brainstorm a comprehensive operational plan for both groups.

He explained that achieving a clear and strategic operational direction requires examining “two sides of the coin,” particularly organizational and programme structures. According to him, aligning these components would strengthen institutional capacity and enhance prospects for financial sustainability and independence.
Dr. Magashi also advised KANET leadership to avoid competition with other groups, urging the network to focus on creating value that attracts collaboration and membership.
Speaking earlier, KANET Chairman, Nura Ahmad Muhammad, urged stakeholders to critically assess their internal structures to identify areas for innovation and necessary adjustments.
He proposed several initiatives, including the organization of a silver jubilee to mark KANET’s 25th anniversary next year, development of a functional website, convening meetings of NGOs’ Executive Directors, and advocacy visits to the State House of Assembly on key legislative issues.
On her part, Zainab Nasir Ahmad, Executive Director of YOSPIS and Co-Chair of KANET, appreciated Dr. Magashi for convening the session.

She urged stakeholders to ensure that ideas generated during the engagement are effectively implemented through collective effort.
Zainab further noted that as the election season approaches, outcomes from the session would help shape strategies ahead of the Post-Youth Summit.
Also speaking, Salisu Yusuf, a Board Member of the YOSPIS Reference Group, commended Dr. Magashi’s leadership, noting that both organizations were fortunate to benefit from his guidance, particularly in applying SWOT analysis to institutional development
