APC North‑East Group Suggests Dogara as Possible VP Candidate for 2027

The North‑East Coalition of APC Support Groups has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara as a potential running mate for the 2027 presidential election.
At a regional meeting in Gombe, the coalition’s chairman, Hon. Sha’abdini Bello Zalanga, spoke about Dogara’s experience and role as a former Speaker of the House of Representatives.
He stated that selecting a candidate from Bauchi or Gombe could provide regional balance for the North‑East.
Other speakers, including Hon. Garzali Abubakar and Hon. Sallau Kafi, also referred to Dogara’s contributions to the establishment of the North‑East Development Commission and his role in passing legislation such as the Not‑Too‑Young‑To‑Run Act.
The coalition said it would continue to advocate for the inclusion of a North‑East candidate in the vice‑presidential slot ahead of the 2027 elections.
