AT-TARTEEL Academy Jada launches tree planning campaign in Adamawa

In an effort to reduce the effects of environmental degradation, the management of At-tarteel junior Arabic and Islamic Secondary school Jada in Conjunction with Green Environment Solutions,GESOL have launched tree planning campaign in Jada local government area of Adamawa state.
The tree planning campaign was launched during the school’s 2024 speech and price giving ceremony held at the school premises in Jada town on Thursday which witnessed official flag off of trees planning campaign by some stakeholders.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Governing council of At-tarteel junior Secondary school, Dr.Ibrahim Umar Jongur said that tree planning campaign by the school is intended to ensure mitigating the challenges of climate change in our communities.
Dr.Jongur stated that with the efforts been taken by the federal government and the Adamawa state government under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri towards green initiatives to tackle environmental degradation then all hands must be on deck to support the drive.
He also applauded the Green Environment Solutions, GESOL for supporting the school with 200 trees (seedlings) to be planted at the school premises and across Jada environs.
He explained that the school was established to provide education to out of school children in both Islamic and western education in an integrated form noting that support of stakeholders is needed to maintain the tempo.
“The school provide high quality education to support enrollment of out of school children and Almajiri integration program of the Federal and Adamawa state government policy domestication.
“So far 33 orphans have been educated up to SSS certificate level and currently studying at various territory institutions in the state and across the country.
“We need the support of major stakeholders in Education in supporting state government initiative of providing quality basic education to all”. Jongur appealed
In his keynote address,the Executive chairman of Jada local government council, Mohammed So’o expressed gratitude to the school management for contributions in education for the children.
Represented by the Vice Chairman of the council, Mrs Hannatu Jaret, So’o congratulated the pupils and enjoined them to put more effort in their studies pledging to support the school when ever the need arises.
The ceremony was characterized by colourful programs such as debate, rhythms reading, drama and other academic exercises showcasing the pupils worthiness academically which they performed excellently in the presence of invited guests and their parents
