Banditry: Katsina govt bans motorcycles, tricycles in 19 LGAs
As part of its efforts to enhance security, the Katsina State Government has banned the use of commercial motorcycles and tricycles in 19 local government areas of the state.
Nasiru Mu’azu, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, in a statement issued to newsmen explained that the ban is with immediate effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
According to the statement, the order affects local government areas fully affected by banditry and other related crimes.
“Among them Sabuwa, Dandume, Funtua, Faskari and Bakori, Kankara, Danja, Kafur, Malumfashi, Musawa, Matazu, Danmusa, Safana, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, Jibia, Batsari and Kankia,” the statement read.
He explained that members of the public should understand that the purpose of the order is to restore permanent peace in the affected areas being terrorized by bandits.
