Barau FC defeat Gombe United two goals to nil

The only Kano representative at the Nigeria National League 2025 season, Barau FC has defeated former Nigerian Premier Football League team Gombe United by two goals to nil at Danbatta township stadium on Saturday.

The Maliya boys in a dark blue shirt overwhelmed Gombe United through skipper Saidu with jersey No. 27 opening the score via penalty before the end of the first half, and Shammasu Muhd scored the security goal for Barau FC.

Barau FC are in the fifth position with 12 points after playing 9 matches in Group C.

Slipper Shammasu bagged the man of the match award after scoring the brilliant goals from about 30 meters for Barau FC.

The Gombe United Coach Andullahi Umar, in his press conference “said they have lost the game by 2- 0.

“Then after the two goals we conceded from from two Maliya boys players, we will go back and plan for the next coming matches because we have to win them”.

Shammasu and Saidu scored for Barau FC the goals caused thunderous celebrations among the home fans.

Barau FC will play their next match against Jigawa Golden Stars at Kazaure Stadium, the home ground of Jigawa.
