Bauchi Speaker to feed 15,000 constituents during Ramadan
The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Dangaladiman Ningi), has announced plans to feed 15,000 people in his Ningi Central Constituency throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative, carried out through his Nabalago Foundation, aims to relieve the burden of economic hardship on the less privileged.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Mukhtar Garba Kobi on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the feeding program, which was introduced in previous years has been expanded in response to rising food prices and the worsening economic situation.
“Last year, the Speaker fed over 10,000 people throughout the month of Ramadan,” the statement read.
“However, due to rising inflation and the increasing cost of food commodities, he has decided to increase the number of beneficiaries to 15,000 this year.”
The statement also highlighted the role of the Speaker’s wife, Hajiya Abi Hafsat AYS, in inspiring the initiative.
“She is a rare gem who constantly encourages her beloved husband to positively impact the lives of his people while addressing their challenges,” it noted.
The Speaker reassured his constituents of his commitment to supporting them during this period of fasting.
