BIZ CLASSICS President calls on government to prioritize citizen well-being

“The federal government should promptly take necessary action to address the hardships faced by the less privileged following the removal of fuel subsidies and the rise of the dollar,” stated Alhaji Aminu Rabi’u Ali.

Attention has been brought to the urgent need for the federal government to alleviate the difficulties experienced by its citizens due to the surge in the dollar’s value and the removal of fuel subsidies.

Alhaji Aminu Rabi’u Ali, President of Biz Classics Nig Ltd, expressed this concern in a press release today, emphasizing the importance of government oversight in light of the increased cost of living associated with the rise of the dollar and the absence of fuel subsidies.

The combination of the rising dollar and the removal of fuel subsidies has significantly impacted the livelihoods of our citizens. Alhaji Aminu Rabi’u Ali warned that if this challenging situation remains unaddressed, it could exacerbate insecurity, even in the face of ongoing efforts, as hunger can fuel desperation and potential for terrorism.

Furthermore, Alhaji Aminu advised the government to facilitate businesses by providing easier access to foreign currency, particularly the dollar, to ensure their continued operations and contribute to economic stability.

He also shared his views on the government’s decision to provide palliatives to citizens, noting that it may not be in the nation’s best interest. Instead, he recommended that the government should consider subsidizing food imports to make essential food items more affordable for the less privileged, as they have already lost fuel subsidies.

According to him, the gesture should continue until the local food supply is sufficient, and the government should explore the feasibility of continuing food importation subsidies.
