Boycotting Kano Pillars FC Technical Crew’s Interviews by State Chapter of SWAN

On Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, following post-match press conference of match day 25 between host Kano Pillars and visiting Rangers International at Sani Abacha Stadium, a regrettable incident occurred which led to the State wing of sports writers announced total stay out of all interface with Kano Pillars FC Technical Crew until further notice.

Muhammad Nur Tijjani, Secretary SWAN Kano State Chapter disclosed this is in a statement issued to newsmen.

According to Nur, during and after the post-match press conference, there were rain of insults by the Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars FC on members of the aforementioned outfit particularly the SWAN National Ex-Officio in charge of Northwest and 3 other Excos which clearly shows it as intentional due to one simple technical question of “why do you changed the team that played against Rivers Utd”.

This behaviour according to the body , was deemed unacceptable and disrespectful, hence led us to take final decision on the matter until appropriate action is taken with a view to ensuring mutual understanding and trust being partners and progress

Sincerely speaking, It is crucial to emphasize the importance of respectful and professional relationships between sports clubs and the media, as mutual understanding and cooperation are essential towards the promotion of journalism in the field aimed at ensuring the overall growth of the industry.

SWAN Kano State Chapter is wholly and squarely committed to upholding the values of integrity, professionalism, and respect, and hope for a swift resolution to this rift in a manner that will foster positive relationship between the media and sports clubs.
