BREAKING: IPMAN, Dangote Refinery Sign Landmark Agreement for Direct Petrol Supply
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has reached a landmark agreement with Dangote Refinery to source petroleum products directly, marking a significant shift in Nigeria’s energy distribution landscape.
IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, announced the partnership on Monday during a press briefing in Abuja, following a meeting of the Association’s National Working Committee.
According to Garima, the agreement aims to provide a consistent, affordable supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) across Nigeria, helping to stabilize the local market.
“After productive discussions with Aliko Dangote and his management team in Lagos, Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) directly. These products will be distributed to our depots and retail outlets nationwide,” Garima stated.
He encouraged IPMAN members to depend on Dangote Refinery and Nigerian refineries for petroleum products, emphasizing that this collaboration aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda by fostering job creation and economic growth.
This agreement, concluded after several months of negotiations, is expected to drive efficiency and affordability in the sector. It further signals Dangote Refinery’s commitment to supporting IPMAN’s vast network of over 30,000 members and 150,000 retail outlets nationwide, following the refinery’s recent launch of its petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel production.
With the removal of middlemen from the supply chain, the deal is anticipated to reduce costs and ensure a steady product supply to Nigerian consumers.
