BREAKING: Kwankwaso Criticizes FG Over Rice Palliative Distribution, Security Issues in Kano

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a prominent political figure and former governor of Kano State, has expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the Federal Government’s recent handling of rice palliative distribution and security management in Kano.

In a statement posted on his social media account, Kwankwaso revealed his concern that, while palliative rice was distributed to 35 states through their governors, Kano was the only state excluded from this process. According to him, Kano’s share was instead given to “APC stalwarts” to manage, an action he described as an insult to constitutional democracy and an example of extreme partisanship.

“This is a gross insult to our constitutional democracy and driving partisanship too far,” Kwankwaso said.

He urged President Bola Tinubu to take immediate action, calling on him to “halt this naked derailment of democracy.”

In addition to his concerns over the palliative distribution, Kwankwaso also raised alarms about the frequent changes in the leadership of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano. Within just two weeks, the state has seen three different DSS directors posted and reposted, a situation Kwankwaso claims is negatively impacting the state’s security.

Kwankwaso’s remarks come at a time of heightened political tension, and his call for action emphasizes the need for neutrality and stability in governance, especially in a state as pivotal as Kano.

The Federal Government has yet to respond to his claims.
