Breaking: Plateau Police Arrest Suspects Behind Viral TikTok Video Inciting Violence

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested suspects linked to a viral TikTok video inciting violence ahead of a planned nationwide protest.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Supretendant of Police, Alfred Alabo in Jos on Sunday said
the video, posted by “Dam-Mallam68”, showed an individual urging the public to attack security operatives and burn down critical infrastructure in Plateau State.

Suleiman Yakubu, 34 years, was arrested on July, 28th 2024, and confessed to being the person in the video.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, warned that the police will resist any attempt to cause chaos in the state.

He urged residents to remain law-abiding and report suspicious activities to the provided numbers.

The statement added that Investigation is ongoing.
