BREAKING: Three Katsina PDP Reps Defect to APC
Three members of the House of Representatives from Katsina State, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Their defection was announced during plenary on Wednesday at the National Assembly in Abuja and was formally read out by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, who presided over the session.
The lawmakers cited the ongoing internal crisis and unresolved leadership issues within the PDP as the primary reasons for their departure. They noted that the instability in the party has hindered their ability to effectively represent their constituents and contribute meaningfully to governance.
Their move represents yet another political gain for the APC, which continues to strengthen its influence across key states in the country.
In a symbolic show of support, the Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda, was present in the chamber to witness the lawmakers’ formal declaration.
