BREAKING: Tinubu’s Spokesperson Steps Down
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson for the President, has announced an indefinite leave of absence due to pressing family health concerns.
In a memo submitted to the Chief of Staff to the President on Friday, Chief Ngelale expressed that the decision was made after thorough consultations with his family as they face an escalating medical situation.
In addition to his role as the President’s spokesperson, Ngelale holds the position of Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and serves as Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen. While acknowledging the importance of his national duties, he emphasized the need to prioritize his family during this challenging period.
“The ship of state waits for no man,” Ngelale noted in his statement, indicating his understanding of the responsibilities he is stepping back from. However, the gravity of the situation at home necessitated the decision to take a pause from public service.
Chief Ngelale expressed his hope to return to full-time national service when “time, healing, and fate permit,” and he respectfully requested privacy for his family as they navigate this difficult time.
The President’s office has not yet announced any temporary replacement for Chief Ngelale during his leave.
