Alhaji Ali Nuhu, Chairman of Sagama Construction and Engineering/Homes Limited, has facilitated the release of 12 inmates from the Kurmawa Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kano State as part of his humanitarian gesture.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after securing the inmates’ release, Alhaji Nuhu explained that his action was borne out of compassion and inspired by the advice of the Chief Executive Officer of Tubless Media Concept, Nasiru Rabiu Tubless.
“This is my first time visiting a Correctional Centre, and what I saw left me emotional,” he said.
He urged the freed inmates to accept their past experiences as destiny and embrace a new chapter with good faith. Alhaji Nuhu further reminded them that Northern Nigeria faces serious challenges such as insecurity, drug abuse, and thuggery, stressing the need for self-discipline and positive change to become responsible citizens.

Also speaking, Ibrahim Ahmadu, a former Branch Manager of Stanbic IBTC Bank, disclosed that Alhaji Nuhu budgeted N500,000 to secure the release of the inmates, which led to the discharge of 12 convicts.
“Seven have been released today, while the remaining will regain their freedom soon,” he stated.
Ahmadu advised the former inmates to seek forgiveness from Allah, respect their parents, and engage in meaningful work to avoid falling back into crime. He also commended Tubless for his continuous support to human and community development through entrepreneurship training and the use of social media to raise awareness against social vices.
“It was on this basis that we travelled from Abuja to Kano to commend his efforts. We also visited an orphanage home where we shared food items and encouraged the children to feel part of the larger society,” he added.
On his part, Nasiru Rabiu Tubless, CEO of Tubless Media Concept, revealed that Alhaji Nuhu’s gesture was inspired by his podcast titled Rayuwata, where the Sagama Chairman once featured as a guest. He reiterated their visit to the orphanage and called on other philanthropists to emulate Alhaji Nuhu.

“We did all this for the sake of Allah. We were once supported in life, and now it is our turn to give back,” Tubless said.
He further disclosed that the Sagama Chairman provided transportation allowances for the freed inmates and pledged to support both the male and female wings of the facility in their basic needs, including the tailoring factory.
Tubless assured that his podcast will continue to engage philanthropists to support the centre in various ways. He also advised society at large to avoid social vices such as drug abuse and theft, which often lead individuals into correctional facilities.
Some of the released inmates, including Yakubu Hamza and Muhammadu Nazifi, expressed gratitude to Alhaji Nuhu and Tubless for securing their freedom. They advised youths to avoid criminal activities that could lead to imprisonment, pledging to turn a new leaf and become positive ambassadors of their communities.

A relative of one of the released inmates, Usman Sani Gwangwazo, narrated how they received the good news that his brother had been freed. He appreciated the correctional facility management for their care of the inmates and prayed for blessings upon Alhaji Nuhu and Tubless.
Highlights of the event included a tour of the facility’s vocational and medical units, such as the tailoring workshop, laboratory, and clinic.
Alhaji Nuhu promised to meet some of the inmates’ requests, starting with a N50,000 cash donation to support vocational groups across both wings of the facility. He also pledged to provide a hairdryer for the female wing.
