Chief Of Army Staff vows to stamp out insecurity in Mangu LGA

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Maj. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja has vowed that the military under him will work effectively to stamp out insecurity in Mangu and other part of Plateau state and beyond.
Speaking while addressing over 300 personel and launching of Operation Hakorin Damisa 4, in Mangu, the Army Chief said all the challenges facing the troops will be addressed to enable them discharge their duties without fear or favour.
Gen. Lagbaja said the aim was specifically to end the spate of attacks and killings in the LGA and other parts of the state where over 200 people have killed in the last two months while many other has been Displaced from their ancestral homes.
He also said that the Nigeria Army is not overwhelmed by Plateau crises in any aspect adding that it has been on for over a decade as the army and other security agencies has been responding adequately to ensure lasting peace in the state.
“We also need to bring to the fore the fact that in combating any crises, we need what we usually called three trinity in the military, the people, Government and military are effectively working and the people did not cooperate with them, the result will be negative.”
He called for total cooperation from critical stakeholders to the troops interms of trust and given credible information to enable them discharge their duties effectively, he however refuted the insinuation that it is not true that military is overwhelmed by crises in Plateau state.
The Chief of Army Staff was at the Nigeria Union of Teachers’ House (NUJ) Mangu where he also addressed critical stakeholders among them is the Mwaghavul Development Association, (MDA) Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and host of others.
