CITAD, British Council, PTI Launch Youth Sustainable Enterprise Challenge Programme

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), in partnership with the British Council and Prince’s Trust International (PTI), has inaugurated an orientation program for the successful candidates of the “Youth Sustainable Enterprise Challenge Programme.”
The event, held at Nasarawa Guest Palace, Kano, gathered 80 ambitious individuals aspiring to flourish as prosperous entrepreneurs through the project.
In his welcoming address Engr. Y.Z Ya’u, the Executive Director of CITAD, explained that the initiative aims to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among young participants, encouraging them to contribute value to their businesses.
Represented by Shazali Sunusi Sulaiman of CITAD, He emphasized the program’s goal to reduce unemployment by empowering youths to become employers of labor.
Isah Garba, the Senior Programmes Officer at CITAD, outlined the training’s various components, including Life Skills (ICT, photography, videography), Soft Skills (communication, problem-solving, finance management), and Business Skills (business development, navigating challenges, bookkeeping).
He revealed that the program would top in a sustainability plan, featuring a business pitch competition where successful entries would receive awards, providing a startup boost for their ventures.
Mr. Isa emphasized that participants would acquire comprehensive skills, ensuring the successful revitalization of their existing businesses by the program’s conclusion.
