CITAD hails Ishaku Adamu’s appointment as Disability Commission Chief

The Center for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has commended the appointment of Mr. Ishaku Adamu as the Executive Secretary of the newly established Gombe State Commission for Persons with Disability.

Mr. Adamu, a prominent advocate for persons with special needs (PWDs), was appointed to the role on December 23, 2024, by Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The appointment came on the same day the bill establishing the commission was signed into law.

In a statement issued by Hamza Aminu Fagge, CITAD’s Coordinator for Persons with Disabilities, the organization described Mr. Adamu’s appointment as “well-deserved” and lauded his dedication and leadership.

“Mr. Ishaku Adamu is a dedicated person with vast leadership experience,” said Fagge.

“On behalf of CITAD, I extend our heartfelt congratulations on this milestone. We are confident that his expertise will bring significant progress in advocating for and empowering persons with disabilities in Gombe State.”

CITAD also pledged its readiness to collaborate with the commission to enhance digital inclusion for PWDs in the state.

“At CITAD, we are ready to partner with the newly established commission to train persons with disabilities on digital skills, furthering their inclusion and opportunities in the modern world,” Fagge added.
