CITAD Presents Gifts to Winners of its PWDs Creative Writing Competition
Center for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) expressed readiness to champion the movement of improving living standard among people with special needs through opportunities for showcasing thier talents.
Executive director of the center Engineer Zakariyya Ya’u gave the assurance in a remarks during presentation of prizes to the winners of it’s competition on creative writing on themes bordering people with special needs.
Engineer Y Z who was represented by Sagir Ado Abubakar, project coordinator for the competition, emphasize the need for providing platforms for people with special needs to showcase their talents and amplify their voices to the world.
The competition which was organized by CITAD in collaboration with Muryar Adabi and all Poets network International is aimed at encouraging people with disabilities to write poets and short stories.
Sagiru Ado said, 43 works was submitted by the participants which include 22 Poets and 21 short stories and four were emerged winners with two each from both sides.
On his part, leader of Muryar Adabi and all Poets network International Malam Khalid Imam says they are motivated by keen interest among people with special needs to have a platform for sending their messages to the world, which gave birth to the collaboration with CITAD to organize the event.
The four winners include Hamza Aminu Abdullahi, Ibrahim Umar Abdulkarim, Alhassan Isah Ahmad and Badiyya Muhammad.
All the winners received new Android Smart Phones Wich will further help them to improve their writing skills.
The winners expressed their appreciation to CITAD and Muryar Adabi for organizing the competition.
