CLEEN Foundation Expresses satisfaction with Participants level of assimilation

The Executive Director CLEEN Foundation,Gad Peter has expressed satisfaction at the level of energy displayed by participants during its training.
Peter was speaking in an interview at the learning exchange programme for WPS structures for Plateau, Gombe and Adamawa participants,organised CLEEN Foundation, UN and Norwegian embassy at Valada resort, Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The Director said he is optimistic and hopeful that the energy level will translate into more positive impact at their work in their various communities.
” We are dealing with women from 4 local governments in Plateau State and 2 other states, Adamawa and Gombe that are doing pair review. This kind of learning is encouraging, it gives everybody an opportunity to learn from one another and to also compliment each other”
” We are going to shift our attention now to ensure they are cascading this training more and are reproducing their type in their community because the space is verse and we need more women”
According to him, “if we are able to multiple and talk to other people and have more, we should be able to celebrate little success of ours”
I’m positive about that, because apart from us , there are other organizations are enhancing their capability, and I know the state government is interested, we are trying to link them up with the local government structures ”
Gad while encouraging the women mediators to mentor more people having seen the benefit of the training, said it would be better to have several of their type working in the community than doing it all alone and get overwhelmed.
” I feel that in their interaction, I see that in their little effort, with a little push and encouragement, I’m sure they will do more and that is exactly what we are doing with them now.”
He explained that the foundation is fully invested in changing the stereotype around women and promoting the many ways they can pivot. Adding the this series of engagements have helped shape the women in fundamental aspects of peace-building, digital skills, communications and cyber security.
The program Gad maintained is focused on gender perspectives in pursuit of implementation of the state action plan SAP and the SDG16. Adding that it also aimed to leverage on local indigenous expertise and national support to promote peace-building initiatives in the perspective regions.
Earlier, the state Commissioner, women Affairs and Social Development, Caroline Dafur, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Alex Anlong, appreciated CLEEN Foundation, UN and the Norwegian government for constant support towards training of the participants.
She urged them to embrace learning exchange as an opportunity to build bridges, foster cooperation and create a more peaceful and stable future for all.
Participants from Adamawa and Gombe, Halima Hayatu and Bethsheba Samuel respectively, who bared their minds on the effective involvement of younger women said it’s a beautiful way of mentoring them for the future.
They commended CLEEN Foundation for the brilliant idea and hope to replicate same idea in their various states.
Our correspondent reports that the training comprises of HE4SHE who are women friendly and have their interest at heart were also participants.
There were experience sharing of successful women led mediation initiatives, syndicate and panel sessions as well as drama to show their level of assimilation of the training by the 50 participants.
There were also remarks by some members of civil society organizations.
