Commander Sector 2 OPHK Celebrates Christmas with Troops in Buni-Gari

The Commander of Sector 2 Joint Task Force, North-East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Maj-Gen M.C.E. Ejike, celebrated Christmas with his troops in Buni-Gari, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Speaking at the Christmas luncheon, Maj-Gen Ejike highlighted the significance of the gathering as an opportunity for officers and men on the frontline to come together, share in the festive spirit, and strengthen comradeship.
He commended the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen O.O. Oluyede, for his exemplary leadership, which inspired the initiative. Maj-Gen Ejike stated that such gestures aim to motivate troops and foster unity among personnel.
The commander expressed gratitude to the COAS for his unwavering support, especially in enhancing professionalism and regimentation within the Nigerian Army.
Maj-Gen Ejike reiterated the operational philosophy driving their efforts, saying:
“Our operations in the theatre are firmly anchored on the COAS Command Philosophy, which is, ‘To consolidate the transformation of the Nigerian Army towards bequeathing a well-motivated and combat-ready force capable of discharging its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency environment.’”
In his remarks, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by Commissioner Aji Yerima Bularafa, acknowledged the significant successes recorded by the Nigerian Army in the ongoing fight against insurgency in Yobe State and the North-East.
Governor Buni noted the remarkable improvement in security within the state, describing it as one of the most peaceful states in the North-East region.
He assured continued support for the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, stating:
“The state government will continue to provide support within the limits of its resources, by the will of Almighty Allah.”
Governor Buni added that the state government has been providing medical services, consumables, vehicles, equipment maintenance, and other forms of logistical and operational support to the security forces deployed in Yobe State.
