From Rabilu Abubakar, Gombe
The Doho Development Association (DDA) in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State has commended the leadership of the Kwami Local Government Chairman, Dr. Ahmed Wali Doho, for his remarkable achievements within one year in office.
In recognition of his performance, the community organized a special prayer and thanksgiving ceremony to honor Dr. Wali for his dedication to delivering the dividends of democracy.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman of the organizing committee, Professor Shu’aibu Umar Wazirin Doho, who is also the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at the University of Benin, lauded Dr. Wali’s exemplary performance.
He described Dr. Wali as an exceptional leader who stands out among past local government chairmen for achieving significant progress in a short time.
Barrister Sani A.A. Haruna, Chairman of Gombe Local Government and ALGON Chairman for Gombe State, also praised the efforts of Dr. Wali and the Doho Development Association for recognizing leadership excellence.
He noted that most of the current local government chairmen were selected based on their credibility and commitment to serving their communities, as envisioned by Governor Inuwa Yahaya.
Barrister Sani added that Dr. Wali’s numerous projects and accomplishments speak for themselves and that many of his contributions may not even be fully documented due to their scale and impact.
Justice Abdulhamid Yakubu Doho, a High Court Judge from the community, called on residents to continue supporting Dr. Wali to encourage further progress and development in Kwami Local Government Area.
In his remarks, Dr. Ahmed Wali Doho expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing that he sees himself as a servant of the people rather than a ruler.
He appreciated his colleagues, the local government chairmen, for their support and collaboration, which have strengthened his resolve to deliver on his mandate.
Dr. Wali also commended the Doho Development Association for organizing the event without any financial assistance from him, stating it was a testament to their commitment to the community.
The event featured a lecture on good leadership delivered by Malam Suleiman Tolba Magaji and Rev. Danjuma Maidugu, who urged leaders to uphold integrity and the fear of God in their service to the people.
