The Incorporated Trustees of the Federal Government College Kano Old Students Association have secured an interim court injunction restraining all parties from further acts of encroachment or any dealings concerning the college’s land.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National President of the association, Shoyinka Shodunke and issued to PRIME TIME NEWS on Thursday.
PRIME TIME NEWS reports that the order, which is linked to a disputed Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, directs that the status quo be maintained pending the determination of the substantive suit.
The development is seen as a major legal step in the association’s ongoing effort to safeguard the institution’s assets, while reinforcing its commitment to protecting the college’s legacy, heritage, and continuity.
Reacting to the ruling, the association commended the support and unity demonstrated by its members in pursuing the matter. It specifically acknowledged the contributions of its Board of Trustees, National Executives, past Executive Committee members, Legal Committee, Kano Chapter organisers, Committee of Elders, and younger members engaged in advocacy across social media platforms.
The association further called on all stakeholders to remain resolute and law-abiding in their efforts to address what it described as an injustice, insisting that all actions would continue to follow due legal processes.
