Court Ruling Against Zamfara Governor Real Setback – Rabi’u Tahir

Rabi’u Tahir has described the appeal court judgement annuling the election of Dauda Lawan Dare as governor of Zamfara is a temporary setback and the decision of people of Zamfara will definitely prevail.

Tahir, a political analyst reacting to the Appeal Court ruling said the outcome of the governorship election “accurately represented the people’s yearning for a shift towards positive development and progress”.

Rabi’u Tahir Emphases that “The ruling by the Appeal Court is a temporary setback. However, we remain optimistic that the collective decision of the people of Zamfara State will ultimately prevail,” he said.

“Definetly Dauda Lawan will emerge victorious, his unwavering determination and steadfast commitment leave no room for doubt or fear. The people’s  Governor faced numerous challenges on the road to victory in the last election. But let me assure the people of Zamfara State that Governor Dauda Lawan is fully committed to going to great lengths to retain this widely acclaimed mandate.”

He added that the Judiciary, often touted as the last resort of the common man has always been an arm of government with a chequered history while Parties to issues brought before the Judges are always hopeful of favourable outcomes and are, in fact, heavily invested in these expectation.

However, the APC government never went after APC Governor’s as they did in the case of Dauda Lawan Dare of Zamfara State because it was never about corruption but the election of people’s choice. The APC has, over the years, built a bad reputation for the judiciary.“

Rabi’u Tahir further called on the attention of the international community and, indeed, Nigerians to the menace as plot to steal the mandate of millions of people of Zamfara State is in the pipeline.
