CSF President assures Police of Forum’s commitment to promoting peace, security in Kano

The Kano Civil Society Forum (KCSF) has assured the police of its unwavering support and commitment towards ensuring continued peace and security of lives and properties of people in Kano State.

President of the Forum, Mohammed Bello, disclosed this when the executive members of the Forum and Hoteliers Association of Kano State, were hosted by the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba, at the Command Headquarters yesterday.

The meeting was aimed at emphasizing and capitalizing on the pivotal role of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Hoteliers in preventing crimes and promoting peace and security in Kano State.

Mr. Bello promised to work relentlessly in promoting the Peace and Security agenda in Kano State while working in collaboration with the Police and other critical institutions in the sector.

In his remark, CP Garba Dogo recognized the role of civil organizations in crime prevention within the community and also commended the representatives of the Forum for their continued assistance in promoting peace across the state through their developmental activities.

“I want to start by welcoming and appreciating you for the cooperation you have been extending to the Police Command. I deemed it very necessary to have you for this meeting because of the pivotal role you play in preventing crime and ensuring no breakdown of law and order in the State.

“Prevention is better, safer and cheaper than cure. Therefore, we need your support and cooperation. We have to continue to be patriotic and be very much aware of the current security situation of the State, and also be vigilant with any suspicious activity. We need your support and cooperation in this regard.” He added.

Responding to the plead made by the CP, the leadership of the Civil Society Forum and the Hoteliers Association congratulated and commended the Commissioner of Police for this thoughtful initiative. They also pledged to give maximum cooperation and support to the Police Command.

Blueprint reports that the meeting was convened due to rising tension amid nationwide planned protests due to the current economic hardships bedeviling the country.
