Daurama Karama, Dr. Samira Buhari, Mourns the Passing of Governor Radda’s Mother
The Daurama Karama of Daura, Dr. Samira Salisu Buhari, has extended her deepest condolences to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda and the entire Radda family over the passing of their beloved matriarch, Hajiya Sarafa’u Umaru, who passed away at the age of 93.
In a statement issued on Wednesday 2nd April 2025, Dr. Samira Buhari described the late Hajiya Sarafa’u as a woman of extraordinary virtue, resilience, and unwavering faith, whose legacy of integrity and service will be remembered for generations.
“Hajiya Sarafa’u Umaru was a beacon of strength and wisdom, a mother who not only nurtured her family but also inspired a legacy of leadership and service,” she stated. “Her values are evident in the remarkable leadership of Governor Radda, whose dedication to the progress of Katsina State reflects the upbringing and principles she instilled.”
Dr. Samira Salisu Buhari, who was recently conferred with the revered title of Daurama Karama in Daura, emphasized that the passing of such a revered matriarch is not just a personal loss to the Radda family, but a moment of collective mourning for the people of Katsina State and beyond.
“She was a mother to all, a pillar of guidance, and a source of unwavering support to those who knew her. Her departure leaves a void that can never truly be filled,” she added.
She offered prayers for the repose of the late Hajiya Sarafa’u Umaru’s soul, seeking Almighty Allah’s infinite mercy upon her and the granting of Aljannatul Firdaus. She also prayed for strength and patience for Governor Radda and his family during this difficult time.
The late Hajiya Sarafa’u Umaru was laid to rest in Radda village, Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State, in accordance with Islamic rites. Dignitaries, political leaders, and well-wishers have continued to pay tribute to her life and legacy.
