By Mustapha Salisu

Hon. Kabiru Ibrahim Danguguwa, the Interim Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, has called on the Kano State government to urgently address the dilapidated condition of Kwakwaci market.

Speaking to journalists yesterday, Hon. Danguguwa underscored the market’s critical role in providing livelihoods for the local youth. He highlighted that over a thousand young people rely on the market for various mechanical and commercial activities.

Expressing concern about the market’s deteriorating infrastructure, Hon. Danguguwa noted that the current state poses significant safety risks to both traders and customers. He urged the state government to prioritize the market’s reconstruction to foster a safer and more conducive business environment.

Additionally, Hon. Danguguwa outlined the achievements of his administration in various sectors since taking office. He pointed to ongoing projects in health, water, and education as evidence of his commitment to local development.

“We are constructing a new Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in the Dawanau area, which will be equipped with modern facilities to ensure efficient service delivery,” he announced.

Focusing on education, a top priority for the NNPP-led administration, Hon. Danguguwa reported the construction of eight new classrooms, a project initiated by former governor Engr. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

He also called on the state government to develop roads within the Kwakwaci market to improve access for motorists and support market activities.
