The Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Security Corps (KSNWSC) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property across Kano State following the tragic incident involving the killing of a woman and her children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kano.
This was disclosed by the Commandant General of the Agency, Lt Col AY Abdulmalik (Rtd), in a press release issued and made available to newsmen by Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim Anipr, Director Public Enlightenment of the Agency on Sunday.
The Commandant General revealed that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, who also serves as the Grand Commander of the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Security Corps, has strongly condemned the heinous act and directed immediate and decisive security measures to forestall a recurrence.
In compliance with the Governor’s directive, the Commandant General stated that the Agency has sectorised the affected area and its adjoining communities, deployed additional operational personnel, and intensified patrols and surveillance across identified vulnerable locations within the metropolis.
He further disclosed that stop-and-search operations have been activated across the Agency’s Areas of Responsibility as part of a comprehensive security strategy aimed at deterring criminal activities, disrupting criminal movements, and strengthening preventive security architecture.
The Commandant General assured members of the public that the KSNWSC is working in close synergy with the Nigeria Police Force and other sister security agencies, providing round-the-clock support to ongoing investigations to ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are brought to justice.
He called on residents of Kano State to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with security agencies, stressing that community participation and timely information sharing remain critical pillars of effective neighbourhood security.
