Drone Misfire: Attijjaniyya donates clothes, detergent worth N3.9m to victims

Jam’iyyatu Ansariddeen (Attijjaniyya), an Islamic group has donated clothes, detergents and cash worth N3.9 million to the victims of Tudun Biri drone misfire in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The National Secretary of the group, Alhaji Al-Qasim Yahaya, made this known in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said that the items were delivered to the victims under the delegation of the organisation led by Sheikh Abdul’ahad Ibrahim-Niass, the Chairman of NIASSE International Foundation.

Yahaya said the items were distributed to the victims at the 44 Nigerian Army Hospital and Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna, where some of the casualties, most of whom were women and children,were receiving treatment.

He said, ” As an islamic organisation whose members were affected by the tragedy that led to the loss of lives of many innocent souls and several others were injured, we decided to donate relief items to our brothers and sisters.

” We distributed 150 wrappers to women, 100 gowns to men, 50 sets of readymade clothes for women, 70 sets of readymade clothes for men, 100 sets of slippers, detergents and N10,000 cash to 100 victims.

” This is apart of our efforts to improve the living conditions of the victims who are devastated by the recent drone misfire in Tudun Biri village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.”

Yahaya extended the condolences of the group to the families who lost their loved ones in the incident.

He added, ” No words can alleviate the pain they are enduring, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.”

Yahaya also urged the Nigerian Army to reassess and reinforce the rules of engagement for their personnel, particularly when it comes to the deployment of military drones.

Yahaya said, ” It is essential to improve the training and education of the military personnel regarding human rights and protection of civilian lives.” (NAN)
