Edugate: PWDs Offer Prayers For Humanitarian Ministry

Following alleged corruption allegations that led to the suspension of the minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Kano State have held a special prayer session.

Recall that the PWDs, consisting of the deaf, physically challenged, Albinos and others led by former Senior Special Assistant to former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on People With Disability, Adnan Ali Daneji have called on the President to replace Edu with Halimat Adenike Tejuosho.

Speaking while holding the prayer session on Wednesday, the Chairman of PWDs, Fagge cluster, Mu’azu Aminu Fagge said it became necessary for them to organise the special prayer seeking God’s intervention on the situation of the only place they find solace in.

He said, “We are holding this prayer session to seek God’s intervention in what is happening in the ministry. For us, the minister should be replaced and we have so far identified someone we have confidence in. Someone we trust will give us anything that is ours provided by the government.

“We all know how marginalised and left behind we were but this our preferred candidate has already been extending help to us through her foundation especially those of us in Kano where our children were taken to study in foreign countries.

“We can’t say 100 per cent of the ones that have served as ministers’ were not good to us but we deserve more.”
