EFCC Arrests Popular Kano TikToker Murja Kunya Over Alleged Naira Abuse
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested popular Kano-based TikToker, Murja Ibrahim Kunya, over alleged abuse of the Naira.
An EFCC source confirmed that the social media influencer was apprehended on Saturday in Kano State as part of an ongoing investigation.
“The investigation is ongoing, and upon completion, she will be charged to court,” the source stated.
Murja, widely known on TikTok as ‘Yagayagamen,’ is a controversial figure in Kano’s social media space, often making headlines for her activities.
This is not her first encounter with law enforcement. In February 2023, the Kano State Hisbah Board arrested her for allegedly engaging in immoral acts and corrupting public morals through her online content. She was later arraigned before a Shari’a court, where she pleaded not guilty. Following her release, she left the state for some time and maintained a low profile.
Her latest arrest by the EFCC signals yet another legal battle for the controversial TikToker.
