EFCC vindicates former Borno Commissioner-nominee, Ngoshe of Alleged N24m fraud

Maiduguri, Borno State – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has vindicated Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf Ngoshe, a former Commissioner-nominee in Borno State, of the alleged misappropriation of N24 million.

Recall Dr. Ngoshe was arraigned by the EFCC in April on a one-count charge of alleged misappropriation while he was the principal of Mairi Islamic Senior Secondary School, Maiduguri, between 2012 and 2013.

The charge alleged that Dr. Ngoshe “dishonestly misappropriated the revenue generated” by the school and “diverted same in the establishment of your school by the name Sheik Abba Aji Memorial Integrated School at Mairi Kuwait being monies meant for payment of staff salaries, additional structures and other physical projects for the school” to the tune of N24 million.

Dr. Ngoshe’s supporters have described the dropped charges as a great victory for justice and the rule of law. They hope that his victory will encourage others to fight for what is right, even when the odds are against them.
