Eid-El-Kabir: Minister Yusuf Abdullahi Ata Urges Patience, Reflection Amid Celebrations

As Muslims around the world celebrate Eid-El-Kabir, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim faithful in Kano State and across Nigeria, urging them to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and reflection.

In a statement issued on Friday through his Special Assistant on Media, Adamu Aminu, the minister emphasized the significance of Eid-El-Kabir, which commemorates the profound act of faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) in his willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail (AS).

Hon. Ata called on Nigerians to internalize the lessons of the season, particularly the virtue of patience in the face of personal and collective challenges.

“Patience is a virtue that enables us to navigate life’s challenges with fortitude and resilience,” he said. Quoting from the Holy Qur’an (Surah Hud, Verse 115), the minister reminded Muslims that Allah does not waste the reward of those who do good.

Reflecting on national progress and development, Ata warned that impatience often undermines growth and urged citizens to embrace diligence, consistency, and hope. “Throwing tantrums won’t speed up our progress,” he noted. “It is only through patience, hard work, and dedication that we can achieve our aspirations.”

He also drew from Hausa wisdom, referencing the popular proverb, “Mai hakuri, shike dafa dutse yasha romonsa”—meaning even the most difficult tasks become bearable through perseverance.

As part of his Eid message, Minister Ata offered prayers for divine forgiveness and guidance for the Muslim Ummah, and for the safe return of pilgrims from the Holy Land.

He used the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to addressing housing and urban development challenges in Kano and beyond, promising continued service and dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians.

In closing, the minister wished all Muslims a peaceful and prosperous Eid-El-Kabir, urging them to reflect on the values exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and pray for the peace, unity, and prosperity of the nation.
