The Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security, boosting agriculture, and enhancing infrastructural development across the state.
In a statement issued by Mamman Mohammad, Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Buni urged the Muslim community to uphold the core values of Eid sacrifice, charity, and love and to extend these virtues to neighbours, friends, and fellow citizens regardless of political, religious, or cultural affiliations.
Governor Buni described the Eid celebration as a time for reflection and an opportunity for both residents at home and pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to offer prayers for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Yobe State and Nigeria at large.
He assured that his administration would, over the next two years, devote increased resources, energy, and focus to ensuring sustainable security, advancing agriculture, and developing critical infrastructure.
The governor encouraged citizens to take full advantage of the rainy season by engaging actively in farming to promote food security and enhance the state’s economy.
While calling for vigilance among residents in flood-prone areas, Buni advised them to adhere strictly to warnings and guidance from relevant authorities during the rainy season to avoid disaster.
Governor Buni commended the people of Yobe for their resilience, cooperation, and continued support for government policies and programs. He noted that their contributions have served as motivation for his administration’s achievements.
“I dedicate the successes of this administration to your unwavering support and understanding. Together, we shall do more to improve the lives of our people,” the governor said.
He also lauded the efforts of the Nigerian Army, other security agencies, vigilante groups, and local hunters for their dedication to maintaining security in the state.
“We must continue to support security agencies with credible and timely information to ensure a proactive and collective response to threats,” he added.
Governor Buni concluded by praying for a peaceful and memorable Sallah celebration for the people of Yobe and Nigeria.
He urged parents to be watchful over their children and cautioned motorists against reckless driving during the festivities.
