Emir of Kano urges First Lady to address hunger, insecurity
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero, urged First Lady Oluremi Tinubu to use her influence with President Bola Tinubu to address pressing issues like hunger, starvation, and insecurity.
He made the plea during her visit to him in Kano on Monday.
“Although we have several means of communicating with the government on our needs and requests, your way and means is the surest way to tell the President the actual happenings in the country,” Bayero, speaking through an interpreter, conveyed to the First Lady.
He emphasized the urgency of the hunger crisis, stating, “The hunger crisis has become more alarming and needs urgent attention.”
Regarding insecurity, Bayero urged Tinubu’s wife to press the president to take decisive action, saying, “The issue of insecurity is another serious problem we are facing. I know your government inherited it, but something more serious should be done to take care of the threats.”
