Entrepreneurship Students from BUK Visit Prime Time News
A group of entrepreneurship students from the Department of Media Studies, Bayero University Kano (BUK), visited the Chairman and CEO of Prime Time News, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, at the newspaper office in Kano, as part of their academic assignment on media entrepreneurship.
The visit, led by Fatima Abdullahi, a Level 3 student, gave the students a chance to learn directly about how a digital news organization operates.
During the session, they asked questions about Prime Time News, how it started, how it has grown, and its impact on the media industry in Nigeria.
In response, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu shared the story of how Prime Time News was founded and how it became a well-known online news platform.
He talked about his experience working in both Nigerian and international journalism, highlighting how digital media is changing the way people get news today.
He also explained the challenges of running an online newspaper, stressing the importance of trust, consistency, and innovation.
He spoke about how technology is shaping journalism, including the role of social media, how news organizations engage with their audience, and ways to make online media profitable.
The session was a valuable learning experience for the students, helping them understand media entrepreneurship, content creation, and how digital news businesses work. It also showed the importance of practical learning, helping students connect their studies with real-world experiences.
At the end of the visit, the students thanked Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu for the opportunity to learn from an industry expert.
