Ex-Kwankwaso Ally, Yunusa Dangwani, Defects to APC

Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, a former close associate of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and prominent Kano politician, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to support the party’s efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dangwani’s defection was formally announced during a political gathering in Kano, which also saw several former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) declare for the APC. The event was presided over by Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, and attended by other party stalwarts.

Speaking at the event, Dangwani, who was previously aligned with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader, said: “We are here to work with APC leaders at all levels to ensure a resounding victory for the party in 2027.” He explained that his decision was driven by a belief in the APC’s capacity to meet the aspirations of Nigerians.

In his remarks, Abdullahi Abbas welcomed the new members, noting that their entry would strengthen the party’s grassroots mobilization and bolster its strategy for the forthcoming elections.
