FASTE Emerges Overall Winner of ADUSTECH 12th Inter-Faculties Sports Competition

The 12th edition of the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil (ADUSTECH) Inter-Faculties Sports Competition came to a close on Thursday, August 7, 2025, with a thrilling football final between the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science and Technology Education (FASTE) at the University’s football pitch. The match was highly contested, with FASTE emerging victorious, winning 1-0 against the Faculty of Engineering.
The Faculty of Science secured the 3rd position in football, showcasing their skills and determination throughout the tournament. The overall winner of the competition was FASTE, which accumulated an impressive 19 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze medals, totaling 29 medals. This outstanding performance solidified their position as the top faculty in the competition.
The Faculty of Earth and Environmental Services (FAEES) came in second, with 4 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze medals, totaling 18 medals. The Faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (FAAT) secured the third position, with 4 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals, totaling 12 medals. The Faculty of Engineering (FAENG) despite their loss in the final, secured the 4th position with 3 gold, 4 silver, and 10 bronze medals, totaling 17 medals. Faculty of Mathematics and Computing Science (FACMS) finished in 5th position, and Faculty of Science (FACSI) in 6th and the last position. The competition saw participation from various faculties, showcasing their talents and sporting prowess.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai, expressed his delight with the level of participation and the quality of the games. He congratulated all the students, especially the athletes, and emphasized that there are no losers, as everyone is a winner. The VC also announced the commencement of the university’s female football team and preparations to host the NUGA Zone E Preliminary Games in September.
The university has upgraded its facilities and built new ones, including a beach volleyball court and traditional sports facilities, to meet the NUGA requirement standard. The VC congratulated the students, Deans of the faculties, and especially the Sports Directorate’s Director and his Deputies for the excellent organization of the competition.
The Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Abdulkadir Muhammad Dambazau, who is also the LOC Chairman for the NUGA Zone E preliminary games, thanked the university management for their support and appealed for further assistance to complete some renovations and provide pavilions for fans and guests. This, he said, would make the fans comfortable and enhance their overall experience.
The university’s commitment to promoting sports development and providing a conducive environment for athletes to excel is evident in the organization of this competition. The event brought together students, faculty members, and staff, fostering a sense of community and healthy competition.
