Fed. Ministry of Education Commends Yobe Govt. for Achievements in Basic Education

The Federal Ministry of Education has commended the Yobe State Government for its remarkable achievements in basic education delivery across the state.
According to a statement issued by Mamman Muhammad, Director General, Press and Media Affairs to Governor Mai Mala Buni, the commendation was contained in a special letter personally signed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and addressed to the Governor.
“I write to convey the commendation for Your Excellency’s unwavering commitment to advancing the basic education sector in Yobe State,” the letter reads.
“Your proactive approach is exemplary and reflects a sustained prioritization of foundational education as a catalyst for development geared towards improving educational outcomes for the over 967,301 children of basic education age in Yobe State.”
The Minister praised the Yobe State Government’s dedication to ensuring that children in the state acquire the knowledge and skills essential for their success in an increasingly competitive world.
He further noted with appreciation that Yobe State has fully accessed its 2024 Universal Basic Education matching grant, positioning the state for improved educational infrastructure and capacity.
The commendation comes at a time when three girls from Yobe, Nafisa Abdullah, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Khadija Kashim emerged world champions at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London, United Kingdom. The competition had over 20,000 participants from 69 countries.
In response, Governor Mai Mala Buni expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating that the commendation would serve as a springboard for even greater achievements in the education sector.
He also commended education stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and community leaders, for their unwavering support and dedication to the government’s educational policies and programmes.
