Federal Lawmaker Preach Peace, Religious Tolerance At Eid-el-Maulud

As Muslims in Nigeria join their counterparts across the world to celebrate Eid-el-Maulud, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Interior, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmad has felicitated with the celebrants and enjoined them to use the opportunity to pray for peace and religious tolerance in the country.

In his goodwill message signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Sardauna Francis, Ahmad urged the Muslim faithful to imbibe the spirit of peaceful co-existence, love, honesty, forbearance, generosity, perseverance and sacrifice which are the virtues of the noble Prophet while commemorating his birthday.

He said the universal truth of the values the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) stood for should be engraved in the hearts of all Muslims, adding that doing so would guarantee peace and security in the country.

The member representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency, while noting that the state and federal governments are taking all necessary measures to make the country secure and economically viable, tasked Nigerians to be patriotic, patient and pray for their leaders to succeed.

Ahmad, who holds the revered chieftaincy title of Dujiman Katsina said: “I wish all Muslims a remarkable Eid- el-Maulud celebration to mark the birth of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) whose teachings anchored on tolerance, sacrifice, peaceful coexistence, honesty, perseverance and generosity.”
