FHA, Yobe State Partner to Address Housing Needs

The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has indicated its interest in partnering with the Yobe State Government to construct a Low-Cost Housing Estate in the state.

According to Mamman Mohammed, the DG Press and Media Affairs to Yobe Governor said in a statement said this was made known by the FHA Managing Director, Hon. Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo, during a courtesy visit to Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Ojo explained, the FHA is desirous of partnering with the government of Yobe State in the provision of housing for the teeming populace, in accordance with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes housing as a catalyst for economic development in Nigeria.

He stated that the FHA would require 100 hectares of land in a suitable location for the project, noting that the houses would be constructed within the shortest possible time.

Governor Buni assured the FHA of his administration’s readiness to partner with the authority for the construction of the houses. He emphasized that the government would ensure meeting its obligations for the success of the project.

The governor commended the FHA for the wise decision of choosing Yobe State for the housing project, stating that the state is desirous of this partnership to support its post-insurgency recovery and development agenda.

The governor further emphasized the need for more houses to resettle communities who were displaced by the security challenge, saying “We need more houses to resettle our communities who were displaced by the security challenge.”

He urged the Authority to swing into action without wasting time, adding, “We are most prepared.”
