Fika Community In Yobe Supports Establishment of Federal College of Agriculture and Forestry

In a groundbreaking display of unity and determination, the Concerned Fika Community Elders, Youths and Women Solidarity Group has thrown its weight behind the establishment of the Federal College of Agriculture and Forestry in Fika, Yobe State.

 

The group’s unanimous endorsement of the bill to amend the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria Act CAP A 12 laws of the federation of Nigeria 2004 is a significant step towards realizing this vision.

The Concerned Fika Community members held a meeting on Monday at town hall centre, Fika, after the gathering, the Communique was read by Ibrahim Bawa Fika where he said that the  proposed College aims to promote agricultural development, foster community engagement, and address obstacles to progress.

“The Fika Community is eager to collaborate and provide support for the college’s establishment, showcasing their dedication to the project’s success”.

 

He explained that “Historical Context: Fika town has a rich history, dating back to 1800 when it became part of the Northern Nigeria British Protectorate. Today, it remains a peaceful and thriving local government headquarters in Yobe State”.

 

Speaking on the objectives of the College establishment, he said that the college will contribute to the growth of agriculture and forestry in the region, enhancing economic development and improving livelihoods.

 

“The Fika Community is committed to collaborating and providing support for the college’s establishment. The group remains resolute in their support for the college, despite opposition from some individuals”.

 

The community’s strong sense of unity and determination will be crucial in overcoming challenges and achieving their goals. By working together, they can create a brighter future for their community and contribute to the growth of agriculture and forestry in the region. This unwavering support is a testament to their commitment to progress and development.

 

They urged the federal government and lawmaker representing Fika/Fune Federal Constituency, Mohammed Buba Jejere not to be distracted by the activities of saboteurs of the progress of Fika.

 

“We welcome any meaningful development in Fika for the betterment of our people, we’re ready to render any necessary support to ensure the success of this important project . We believe it will go a long way to improving the livelihood of Fika community, Yobe state and Nigeria at large.”
